Nancy Ella McMillan Martin, 73, of Jacksonville, AL, passed away on July 3rd, 2023, in her home surrounded by loving family. Nancy was born on October 6th, 1949 in Albany, GA, the daughter of Edwin and Freda “Nell” Heirs McMillan.
Nancy graduated from Albany High School in 1967 and then went on to study at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing. Nancy married John Martin on July 11, 1970 at Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany, GA.
After moving to Jacksonville in 1988, Nancy began working for Jacksonville City Schools in various roles. Her bright smile was a staple in the front office of Jacksonville High School for many years, and she was cherished by the students who passed through the halls of JHS. After retiring, Nancy enjoyed travelling and spoiling her grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Nell McMillan. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Martin, and her children, Forrest (Jamie) Martin, Haley (Shawn) Jarvis, and Chase (Erin) Martin; grandchildren, Bennett Martin, Blue Martin, Emory Martin, Gabriel Jarvis, Elyn Jarvis, Finley Jarvis, Gavin Martin, and Riley Martin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8th from 2-4PM at Cremation Services of East Alabama, 733 White Plains Rd, Anniston, AL. A celebration of life service will follow at 4:30 PM. Flowers are welcome or any memorial donations may be sent to the JCOC or Jacksonville Meals on Wheels.
