Nancy Cobb, 79, of Madison, passed away September 23, 2021. She was born in Florence, Alabama on December 26, 1941, Saint Stephen’s Day (Boxing Day in Canada). She graduated from Coffee High School and later attended college. Nancy was married to Jerry Sharp and had three children, Brant Sharp (Sheila Terrell), Chris Sharp, and Elizabeth Sharp who passed away November 29, 2000. Grandchildren are Jennifer Whatley (Evan), Clayton, and Emily Sharp.

Nancy married Carey Cobb “C.J.” May 29, 1993, and acquired two stepchildren, Jill Jones, who has two children, Victoria Jones (who has Nancy’s two great grandchildren, Levi and Jayden) and Cora Grace Jones. Nancy’s other stepchild is Jack Cobb who also has two children (Ensley and David Jackson). In 1999, Nancy was gifted another daughter, Gabby Cobb, who is in graduate school at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Nancy has a brother, Myron Berry (Judy), of Florence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 3, at First Christian Church in Jasper, Alabama. The service will Live Stream on the First Christian Church, Jasper, Alabama Facebook Page. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 4, at 4 p.m. where a portion of Nancy’s ashes will be buried in Maple Hill Cemetery with Elizabeth. (Going north on California Street, Huntsville, take a right on McClung Ave. then second left into the cemetery.) Another portion of her ashes will be taken to the beach at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy’s wishes were that memorials may be made to First Christian Church Jasper General Fund or Week of Compassion. (P.O. Box 789, 35502).
