Nancy Carolyn Felsberg Bergstresser, 83, of Madison, AL passed away peacefully Wednesday November 29, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. She was surrounded by her husband, two children, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren.
Born in 1940 in Camden, NJ, she was a long-time Madison resident who called many states home before settling here. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Madison, where she played the piano and violin in services for over three decades. Additionally, she taught music, volunteered at Madison hospital, and was consistently involved with Meals on Wheels. She was famously known for her chocolate-chip cookies amongst her family and close friends. As described by so many, she was a kind soul who knew no greater joy than taking care of her family and loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Bergstresser, of Madison AL, whom she was wed to for 62 years; her daughter, Laura Bergstresser Elrod; her son, Jeff Bergstresser and wife, Casey Bergstresser; her four grandchildren, Austin Elrod (Danielle), Shelby Bergstresser Lyda (Nolan), Sydney Bergstresser, and William Bergstresser; and her three great-grandchildren, Jack Elrod, Kennedy Elrod, and Will Elrod.
Family and friends will be received from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Madison, 4257 Sullivan St. in Madison. A funeral service will be held the next day at 1 p.m. on December 2, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Madison. Interment will follow at Madison City Cemetery.
