A celebration of life for Nancy Baker Hall of Gadsden, Alabama will be held on January 29, 2023
at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville with Dr. Steve West officiating. The
family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
Collier Butler Funeral Home will be directing.
Mrs. Hall passed away at her home on January 25, 2023 at the age of eighty-seven.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sargent Prickett, and her second husband, Jerry L. Hall,
Parents Guy and Nila Baker, daughter, Mary Hall Fidler (Bernard), sisters, Jimmie Baker Turner (Auby),
Ivadean Baker Dale, Betty Jane Baker, brothers, Leon Baker (Hester), Basal Baker (Mary), and Paul Baker
(Vangie).
She is survived by daughter, Nila Prickett Nabors (Greg), Elizabeth Hall Tucker (Larry), and son,
Jonathan Prickett (Donna). Grandchildren, Caroline Nabors Regis (Leighton), Angela Fidler Pfammatter
(Michael), Andrew Fidler (Lizzie Fischer), Caitlin Fidler (Rachel Sutton), Patrick Tucker (Christen), Laura
Tucker, Laura Prickett Dunaway (Chad), and Alex Prickett (Chloee). Great-grandchildren , Camille
Pfammatter, Elijah Fischer-Fidler, Marigold Fischer-Fidler, and Naomi Fischer-Fidler.
Nancy was born in Morgan County (Lawrence’s Cove) and lived there until the age of twelve
when her family relocated to Etowah County. She was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School and
Jacksonville State University. She married and made her permanent home in Calhoun County. Her
career was spent teaching English at Hokes Bluff High School, Glencoe High School, and Gadsden State
Community College. She was a devoted wife, a loving Nanny, an avid reader, a wonderful teacher,
a fabulous cook, a Master Gardener, and a world traveler. She was a dedicated member of East
Gadsden United Methodist Church for over forty years and later a member of the First United Methodist
Church of Jacksonville.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Patrick Tucker, Andrew Fidler, Alex Prickett, Chad Dunaway,
Michael Pfammatter, and Leighton Regis. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama.
