Namon V. East Sr. – Death Notice

Namon V. East Sr., 73 of Lacey’s Spring, died Saturday September 2, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. East was born April 23, 1944 in Madison County to Joseph Henry East and Mattie May Moon East. He worked for PPG Industries as a machine operator until his retirement. He and the former Carolyn Ann Whitaker were married for 52 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Some of the activities he enjoyed were gardening, fishing, water skiing, hunting, and watching Nascar Racing. Alabama Football was his favorite.
Mr. East was of the Protestant Faith.
Mr. East is survived by his wife: Carolyn East; his son and daughter-in-law: Namon V. East Jr. and Jamie; his grandchildren: Heather Lauren Simmons and Jonathan, Chaseon East and Ashton East; great grandchildren: David Simmons and Luke Simmons; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Clennon and Elna East, Raligh and Karen East, David and Connie East and Randell East; his sisters and brother-in-law: Ruth Lowery and Linda and Ted Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Henry East and Mattie May East.
Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday September 6, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with Raligh East, officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Adam East, Jackie East, Stephen Malone, Keith Gossett, Steve Jenkins and John East. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ted Jenkins and Teri Bates.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday September 5, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel.
