Nadine Pritchett Whisenant, age 90, of the Morgan City community, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Diversicare in Arab, AL. Ms. Whisenant was born July 14, 1932 in Morgan County to John Alvin Pritchett and Betty Clyde Tyler Pritchett. Nadine was a lifetime resident of Morgan City. She was married to McKinley Whisenant who preceded her in death. She was of the Baptist faith and a faithful and loyal member of Brindlee Mtn. Baptist Church. She loved her church and church family and gladly did her part in service. Nadine, in her younger days, spent many hours gardening and being outdoors. She loved cooking big meals for family and enjoyed every minute spent with immediate and extended family members. Leisure time was spent reading and working puzzles.
Family members left behind to cherish memories of Nadine include: son, McKinley Wayne Whisenant; brothers, Radford Pritchett and Troy Pritchett; grandchild, Shree Morgan (Brandon); great grandchildren, Catherine Elizabeth Morgan and McKinley David Morgan and her very special friends, DeNeal Wright and family.
Ms. Whisenant is preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Whisenant; her parents, Betty Clyde Tyler Pritchett and John Alvin Pritchett; daughter in law, Mary Helen Whisenant; and sister in law, Dixie Pritchett,
Visitation and funeral services are planned for Friday, July 7, 2023 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel in Morgan City. Visitation will be between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be immediately after the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Union Grove Cemetery at Morgan City, Lacey’s Spring, AL. Officiating services will be Brother Eldridge Criscoe and Brother Jason Vinson.
Pallbearers escorting Ms. Whisenant to her final resting place will be Troy Pritchett, T. J. Pritchett, Micah Pritchett, Brandon Morgan, Gene Rainer and David Feemster. Honorary pallbearer: McKinley David Morgan
