Nadine Boyd Davis, 95, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Town Creek, passed from this life on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Forest Manor in Northport, AL. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM Moulton Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Cain officiating.
Born on June 15, 1928 to the late Ottis and Edna Flannagin Smith, Nadine lived a long and full life. She was most recently a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and attended services at Capstone Village while living there. Nadine has been a member of Okolona Baptist Church in Hatton for most of her life and then at Town Creek First Baptist Church for several years. Her faith was central to her life and she spoke often about her relationship with Jesus. She loved to read the Bible and study scripture. Nadine worked as a bookkeeper at First Colbert National Bank in Sheffield which became Bank Independent during her time there. Nadine enjoyed her work there and spoke fondly of her co-workers. She loved cooking, and especially baking, for her friends and family. The joy of her life was her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Nita Boyd (Steve) Lovelady, daughter-in-law, Dr. Lynn Sanford Boyd; grandchildren, Beau (April) Boyd, Brantley Boyd, Stephen (Laura Mammina) Lovelady, Ali Grace (Cody) Eiland, and Caleb Lovelady; great-grandchildren, Hayes Boyd, Bella Boyd, Brooke Boyd, Riley Barrett, Reese Barrett, Curtis Eiland, and Ruthie Eiland; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years, Hayes Boyd; their son, Hal Boyd; her second husband of 17 years, Wesley Davis; sisters, Lorene Hurst, Evelyne Witt, Azine Green, and Wanda Givens.
Pallbearers will be Beau Boyd, Stephen Lovelady, Caleb Lovelady, Hayes Boyd, Brad Green, Ricky Givens, Tim Smith, and Mike Piznar. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Hurst;
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Forest Manor Health in Tuscaloosa, Hospice of West Alabama and Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa.
