Nadine Avent departed this life on Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022, at Christian Care Center of Bolivar.
A native of Williamson County, TN, she was the daughter of the late James and Icy Adcock Stinson. On Friday, June 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Mr. James W. “Red” Avent. Mr. Avent passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, after 66 years of marriage. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Sammy, and Matthew Avent; two sisters, Becky Dillard, and Loretta Baker; and two brothers, Donald Stinson and William (Billy) Chalk.
Mrs. Avent had worked for South Central Bell, Whiteville Elementary School and as a LPN at Bolivar General Hospital and Brint’s Nursing Home. She was a member of Whiteville First United Methodist Church. A master gardener, she was a member of the Iris Society and Daylily Society.
Survivors include 3 sons, Mark Avent and Timmy Avent, both of Whiteville and Andy Avent of Rock Springs, WY; grandchildren, Dani Gomez, David Avent, Joey Avent, Brittany “BJ” Avent, Heather Hyndman, Shane Sullivan, Jeremy Avent, Wesley Avent and Andrea Davis; several great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Deb Avent of Altoona, PA.
