NAACP TRI-COUNTY BRANCH NOTICE OF SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER MEETINGS AND NOVEMBER ELECTION

THE SHOALS-Please note the following general membership meetings of the NAACP Tri County Branch in preparation for the November 2020 election of officers and executive committee members. All election procedures will take place at Gaston Chapel M.B. Church, 1206 Sterling Boulevard, Sheffield, Alabama.

According to the State office, only members in good standing shall be eligible to run for office or vote in a Branch election.  For the purpose of running for office, a member in good standing is one whose name appears on the roll of the Branch as a bona fide member of the Branch by April 1 of the election year and remains a continuous member of the branch through the election process; and who lives and/or works within the Branch jurisdiction

On September 29, 2022, at 6:00pm, there will be an election of the Nominating Committee.  Any member whose dues are current as of thirty days prior to the meeting date may be elected to the Nominating Committee.  Any member whose dues are current as of thirty days prior to the October meeting may be nominated for office or as a member of the Executive Committee.

On October 20, 2022, at 6:00pm, the Nominating Committee will make its report, including receipt of nominations, and there will be an election of the Branch Election Supervisory Committee.  Any member whose dues are current as of thirty days prior to the October meeting may sign a nominating petition, or be elected to the Election Supervisory Committee.

On November 17, 2022, the Election of Officers and Members of the Executive Committee will take place at Gaston Chapel M.B. Church, 1206 Sterling Boulevard, Sheffield, Alabama. Polls will open and voting will take place between 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm.  In order to vote in a Branch election, one must be a member in good standing at least thirty days prior to the election. Election by paper ballot.
