Funeral for Myrtle Rutherford Tanksley, 83, of Moulton will be today, March 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Moulton Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Copeland and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Tanksley, who died Monday, March 23, 2015, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born August 16, 1931, in Lawrence County to Bass E. Rutherford and Essie Lipscomb Rutherford. She retired from BellSouth. She was a member of Moulton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Tanksley; brothers, Clyde and Wilburn Rutherford; and sisters, Ruby Warren and Minnie Sue Berryman.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina Saint and Lisa Cooksey Romei; grandchildren, Ashley (Christi) Allen, Nyssa (Brent) Adkins, Kirstin Cooksey, Amanda (Brent) Clark and Sarah Saint; great-grandchildren, Ashton Allen, Straten Allen, Tilleigh Allen, Emory Adkins, Jude Adkins and Mac Clark; sisters, Betty McLemore, Vera Nell Steadmon, Doris Faye Louallen and numerous loved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ashley Allen, Mike Tanksley, Brent Clark, Brent Adkins and Teddy Owens.
