MyrtleMyrtle Lee Sowell was born May 11, 1926 in McNairy, TN the daughter of the late Oliver and Ella Meeks Willcutt.

She was united in marriage to Tim Sowell on August 8, 1950. Mr. Sowell preceded her in death on August 22, 1968.

Mrs. Sowell was a homemaker. Her passion in life was gardening, she loved growing vegtables, tending flowers, and sharing with others. Her joy in life was her family, spending time with her grandchildren, watching westerns, quilting, building things, and rooster snuff.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Hill of Savannah, TN, Carolyn Wood and husband Ray of Adamsville, TN, a son, Travis Wayne Sowell of Adamsville, TN; a daughter-in-law Diana Sowell of Michie TN, a sister, Dorothy Willcutt Sheline of Gary, IN; three brothers, LV. Willcutt of Bethel Springs, TN, Glen Willcutt of Michie, TN, Grady Willcutt of Sunflower, MS; six grandchildren, Timothy Edward Blakney and wife Trena, Timothy Travis Sowell, Mathew Lee James, Christy Lane Sowell, Cody Allen James, Lyndsey Nichole Hill; nine great grandchildren, Dustin Edward Blakney and wife Madalyn, Dakota Lee Blakney, Timothy Joseph Blakney, Kenley Rae Blakney, Kayla Leigh James, Spencer Lee James, William Cole James, Giovanni David Hill, Ashley Elizabeth James; and a grt-grt-grandchild, Harper Rae Blakney; along with a special cousin Lois Love.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sowell was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Oneal Sowell, Willis Tim Sowell; two brothers, James Bea Willcutt, and William Ray Willcutt.
