Myrtice Elaine Rutledge Holder – Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Myrtice Elaine Rutledge Holder, age 87, of Flintville, will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow beside her husband Clyde Layman Holder in Moore’s Cemetery. Mrs. Holder passed away May 12, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital.

A native of Madison County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Presley Alfred and Ruth Elma Mires Rutledge. Mrs. Holder worked for many years in the Flintville foster grandparent program, and was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sons Thomas Earl (Mary Ann) Holder, Elton Louis Holder both of Flintville, and Wesley Alfred (Priscilla) Holder of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by a son Jerry Holder; sisters Edith Sharp and Neldean Crabtree; and brothers Gene Rutledge, Zane Rutledge, Joe Lewis Rutledge, and Ernest Rutledge.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 15, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Myrtice Elaine Rutledge Holder.
