On January 24, 2023, Myrna L. Teel passed away while living in Oxford, Mississippi. She is survived by Wes, her husband of 51 years, sons Adam and Ryan, and her granddaughter, Taylar. She was predeceased by her parents, L.C. and Tecia Ladner, her brother, Louis Ladner, and her brother-in-law, Tom Teel. She fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 29 years, but succumbed to a short but overwhelming battle with a vicious brain tumor. Myrna held a Master’s Degree in Education and taught public school for 24 years before being diagnosed with MS.

Myrna never thought of herself as disabled, and was an avid scuba diver and dancer. She loved God, her family, Ole Miss, and her cats. She was strong, but thought she was weak. She was beautiful, but thought she was average. She was smart, but thought she was merely curious. She was all these things and much, much more. Her scars were badges of courage and determination.

She did not want a memorial etched on some cold slab that no one will see. Instead, she desired her memorial to be written in the hearts of those who loved her and will miss her forever. In lieu of flowers that will slowly wilt, hug someone you love, do a kind act, donate to a worthy cause, and remember to praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo, are honored to assist the family with arrangements.
