Myra Perkins Brown, 81, died on October 17, 2023
Myra was a graduate of Florence State College and taught junior high school math for many years at Forest Hills School. In 1972, she obtained her master’s degree in mathematics from Louisiana State University and went on to work as a computer programmer and systems analyst for the Tennessee Valley Authority until her retirement. She loved to sail, travel, entertain, and to spend time with friends and family. Her quick wit, brilliant mind, and smart crafts will be missed.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband, James Brown and parents, Stanley and Lucille Perkins. She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Chanin; grandchildren, Zach Chanin, Maggie Chanin; great-granddaughter, Stella Chanin; her siblings, Virginia Phillips, Elaine Poorman, and George Perkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
