FLORENCE – Florence Police report that an arrest has been made in a cemetery robbery investigation.

“Female Arrested in Cemetery Theft/ Property Recovered: Florence Police have arrested Brandie Lynn Grimes-Emerson, 39, of Sunset Valley Road in Muscle Shoals after receiving tips from the community inking her to the crime. Grimes-Em…erson is accused of stealing property from the grave of Brandy Nicole Murphy who was killed in 2006. Murphy was a senior at the University of Alabama at the time of her death. Investigators traveled to Grimes-Emerson house this morning and recovered a number of the items stolen in the theft. Investigators said that this investigation is on-going and additional charges are likely. Grimes-Emerson was arrested at the scene and transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Center without incident.”
