Muscle Shoals Police Make Arrest After High Speed Chase Ends In Foot Pursuit

MUSCLE SHOALS-On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the Muscle Shoals Police Department apprehended, Koren Eric Allen McLaughlin, 21 of Hartselle, Alabama, and Joslynn Sierra Winston, 28 of Athens, Alabama. The two were wanted by local authorities after being involved in a police vehicle pursuit, while driving a stolen vehicle, that began in Sheffield, Alabama

on the night of August 20, 2024. The police vehicle pursuit ended and a foot pursuit began when the two attempted to drive the stolen vehicle through the heavily wooded area located just off Second St. in Muscle Shoals. MSPD Officers continued searching the area through the night.

On this date, August 21, 2024, the Muscle Shoals Police Department setup a perimeter around the wooded area where the two were last spotted. Shortly after the perimeter was set, MSPD Officers spotted the two walking in the woods along a creek bed. A foot pursuit through the woods began as MSPD Officers converged on the area. McLaughlin and Winston were taken into custody without incident.

McLaughlin and Winston were transported to the Sheffield Police Department and are pending charges per that agency. Both McLaughlin and Winston have multiple arrest warrants with several agencies across North Alabama.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
