Murray C. Lanter, 88, of Decatur died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at his residence. He was born June 25, 1925, in Illinois to Roger and Jessie Lanter.
Mr. Lanter retired from NASA in 1981.
Mr. Lanter is survived by his wife, Virginia Lanter; son Terry (Sandra) Lanter of Alabaster; daughter, Gayler Lanter of Huntsville; grandchildren, Alex Lanter of Tuscaloosa, Chris Lanter of Alabaster, and Stephanie (Patrick) Schefano of Maylene.
Pallbearers were Terry Lanter, Chris Lanter, Alex Lanter and Patrick Schefano.
A private graveside service was Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
