FLORENCE-Magnolia Church of Christ is sponsoring a murder mystery dinner theater on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3, as a fundraiser for Relay for Life.
The play is a spoof of awards shows like the Oscars and the Tonys, complete with red carpet arrivals. “Although red carpet attire isn’t required, it is certainly encouraged. We want the audience to feel like they are actually at a big event like the Oscars. And you never know — you
might even run into some paparazzi!” said Amanda Perry, director of the play.
The show is audience interactive, with the audience casting votes for who the murderer is at the end of the show. “Don’t worry, though. No one will be forced to get onstage to do something silly! If you’d rather just sit back and watch, that’s fine too. The audience will have a great time trying to figure out whodunit,” said Perry.
The cast includes Heath Haddock, Leah Goss, Lily Holly, Juli Martin, William Freeman, Abby Coats, Marco Ruiz, Tori Helms, Martin Dean, and Sara Biddle.
Dinner will be catered by Steak ‘n Stuff, with a choice of beef tips or chicken, which must be specified at the time of ticket purchase. Tickets are available at Cypress Realty in Florence and are $20. Tickets are only available in advance, through Wednesday, April 30th. Doors will open for seating at 6:45 pm, with dinner service beginning at 7 pm. The show will immediately follow dinner.
“We realize that the ticket price is a little higher than many events around here, but we are trying to raise as much as possible for Relay for Life. Magnolia has set a goal of $5,000 this year and this event will go a long way toward meeting that goal,” said Perry.
