Byron Heath SHAVERS
SECTION-The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department released a statement concerning a murder investigation with the arrest of a suspect:
“On Sunday May 14, 2023 at approximately 11:40 A.M., Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and an Officer from the Powell Police Department responded to a residence on County Road 19 in Section, Alabama to conduct a Welfare Check.
Upon arrival, Deputies located 74-year-old Joe Bob SHAVER, Jr., deceased in front of the residence, with apparent trauma to his head.
As a result of this investigation, Byron Heath SHAVERS age 48 of Section, AL. was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident.
Byron Heath SHAVER was charged with Murder and at this time NO BOND has been set. This investigation is continuing by the Investigations Division of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. “
