MUSCLE SHOALS-On Thursday, September 5, 2024 the Muscle Shoals Police Department obtained a Warrant of Arrest for Demarketh Larmont King, 35 of Chattanooga, TN, for the charge of Robbery 1st Degree. The facts related to the arrest are as follows:

On August 20, 2024, Muscle Shoals Police Department Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to a Robbery call at Little Caesar’s Pizza, located at 1409 Woodward Ave. in Muscle Shoals. During the investigation of the Robbery, Detectives were able to obtain video evidence and develop Demarketh Larmont King as a suspect in the Robbery. Information related to King and the vehicle he is known to drive was issued out to all MSPD Officers on all shifts. It was also made known to all MSPD Officers that King had an active Warrant of Arrest for a Traffic Violation with the City of Muscle Shoals. Through information gathered by working with multiple agencies, Detectives learned of King leaving the area to possibly return to Chattanooga, TN. MSPD worked with other agencies in attempt to locate King as quickly as possible. All MSPD Officers were still on alert for his possible return to the Shoals Area.

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, a Muscle Shoals Police Department SRO recognized what appeared to be King’s vehicle in the Pick Up/Drop Off Line at Howell Graves Preschool. The SRO, with information provided to the school principal, quickly made the decision to put Howell Graves on Code Yellow when the SRO noticed the driver was not inside the vehicle and then readily observed King on foot in front of the school. In attempt to prevent a Robbery suspect from intruding onto any other school property, the appropriate decision was made to take King into custody, to which he was without incident.
While King was officially arrested for a Warrant of Arrest for a Traffic Violation, due to the information gathered by Patrol Officers and Detectives, a Warrant of Arrest was obtained for Demarketh Larmont King for Robbery 1st Degree. King was transported from the Muscle Shoals Police Department to the Colbert County Jail for a Warrant of Robbery 1st Degree, with No Bond, pending a hearing based on Alabama’s Aniah’s Law. King is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Muscle Shoals Police Department’s top priority is the safety of our most precious asset in our children and those who teach and safeguard our children during the day. We commend the MSPD SRO’s quick response to this situation and greatly thank the Muscle Shoals City School System for the continuous assistance when called upon.
