F.7.19.24 Movelean Hendrix.jpg Movelean Goodman Hendrix, 86, of Cloverdale, AL, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday evening, July 16, 2024, surrounded by those that loved her.

Movelean was a lifelong resident of Cloverdale born April 7, 1938. Movelean was a Freewill Baptist and attended Murphy’s Chapel for many years.

Her adult life was spent working on the family farm, piecing quilts, as family dress maker, canning, freezing, and flowerbeds. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally. Movelean was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Movelean was a retired cafeteria worker with Lauderdale County School System and worked at Brooks Elementary, Cloverdale Junior High and Central High.

Movelean was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, G.D. Hendrix and son, Nathan Joel Hendrix; parents, Boyd and Fannie Goodman; brothers, Herman, Herschel and Bobby Goodman and sisters, Lorene Victory, Verla Creasy and Verna Dean Conley.

Surviving are her daughter, Myra (Ray) Valente; son, Dennis Hendrix, and daughter, Melody (Steve) Chilton; grandchildren, Heather Morgan, Presley Hendrix, Chelsea (C.J.) Gilbert, Addison Hendrix and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Garry Lovette officiating. Burial at Wesley’s Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Conley, Steve Chilton, Addison Hendrix, Dakota Morgan, C. J. Gilbert and Justin Mabe.

The family expresses special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, caregivers, and all friends and family special to her.
