Morene Alia Nance Marsh, age 94 passed away August 14, 2014 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 18, 1920 in the Montezuma Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Clyde and Leota Wade Nance. She attended schools in Montezuma and in 1937 married Ercel R. Marsh. They made their home in Montezuma where Mr. Marsh farmed and was a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Marsh died in 1976. Mrs. Marsh was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Mae Linda Marsh Howell and Cayce Marsh Kessler and two great grandchildren, Trey and Derik Howell; two daughter-in-laws Linda Marsh Byrd (Larry) and Gail Marsh all of Henderson; a brother, Raymond Nance of Panama City, FL and a sister, Rovene Thomas of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ercel Marsh, two sons, Jimmy Marsh in 2003 and Tony Marsh in 2011 and a sister, Olera Asbridge formerly of Dyersburg.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Dr. John Hitz officiating and burial will follow in Montezuma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday until service time at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
