FLORENCE-Edward “Chip” Dillard along with Tim Staggs were arrested this past May on a 24-count indictment of human trafficking.
On Tuesday more charges were levied against Dillard he has also been indicted on two counts of bribing a witness, three more counts of human trafficking, one count of tampering with evidence as well as one count of destruction of property.
Timothy Staggs’ attorney on Tuesday, July 12 asked a judge to separate the cases against the men into two separate proceedings. Both Staggs and Dillard have waived their arraignments and entered not guilty pleas in the case.
“Although we cannot provide other details at this time, I want to stress that this is an
ongoing investigation,” said Attorney General Luther Strange. “We ask anyone who has information related to possible crimes by these two men, to please come forward.
