MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department along with DHR on July 17th made an arrest …charges unlawful possession of a Still among other charges.

Here is the statement from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office:

“On Friday, July 17, 2015 that Morgan County Deputies along with DHR arrived at residence located at 48 Maples Rd. in Lacey’s Spring, Al. and observed what was believed to be an operational Moonshine Still.

Agents with the Morgan County Drug Task Force obtained a Search Warrant for the property and recovered an operational Moonshine Still within the garage. Agents seized approximately 3 gallons of Corn Whiskey, and a 25 Gallon Still along with it’s components. Agents located a 35 gallon drum that contained Corn Mash that was ready for processing.

Agents arrested Jeffrey Sowell (w/m 52) for the Unlawful Possession of a Still for the Manufacturing of Prohibited Liquors and for the Illegal Possession of Prohibited Liquor. Bond set at $2,800.00.”
