Mr. Sittre passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at his residence. He was born October 3, 1958. He was born and raised in Trussville, Alabama. to Walter J. Sittre and Rebecca “Nana” Sims, who preceded him in death.

He worked in Tennessee, owned and operated Southland Services for over 38 years, leaving a lasting legacy in his field. His dedication and expertise were well known, and he took great pride in his work.

Everyone knew he screamed “Rocky Top”, being one of the biggest Tennessee Vols fans around. An avid golfer, Monte could often be found on the green, enjoying beating his two sons that never stood a chance according to him.

However, his true joy came from lending a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was a neighbor, friend, or stranger, Monte always had a servant’s heart. He was an Elder and a dedicated servant of Calvary Assembly of God in Decatur and used his many talents and skills to help and service the beautification of the church. Monte was a man of faith, a devoted Christian, and a true man of God, who enjoyed and loved life to the fullest. Monte cherished his family dearly. He was a loving husband, Dad and Papa. We celebrate and honor him, his legacy and the impact he left on many lives.
