Mitchell Shane Clayton, age 54, passed away December 24, 2024, at his home.
He was born February 20, 1970, in Jackson, TN, the son of Judy Carol Beene Clayton and the late Gayle Mitchell Clayton. He grew up in Henderson and graduated from Chester County High School in 1988.
He worked for several local industries but did mechanic work much of his life. He did carpentry work and owned his own mechanic shop, Henderson Service Center in Henderson for several years. He later worked as an adjuster at Duro Bag in Jackson.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and attending his kid’s ballgames and Dixie Youth.
He also had a green thumb and always raised a big garden, both vegetables and flowers.
He raised quail with his dad and then later raised chickens as a hobby.
He enjoyed going to the river and loved his family and spending time with them.
He was member of Victory Baptist Church.
Shane is survived by his mother, Judy Carol Beene Clayton of Bethel Springs; two sons, Joshua Mitchell Clayton (Sarah) of Henderson and River Dalton Clayton of Reagan and a daughter, Madeline Ann Clayton and (Fiancé, Blake Smith) of Beech Bluff; and three grandchildren, Alaina Clayton, Lilah Clayton and Everett Clayton.
He is survived by a lifelong friend, Wayne Patterson of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Craig Lavoy Clayton and Brandon Clayton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Jerry McCorkle officiating. Burial will follow at Finger Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
