Mitchell “Mitch” Walter Helm, age 63 of Athens, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was born on November 4,1957 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Walter William Helm and Marilyn Elieen Reiser Helm.
Mitch is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Margaret Erin Helm-Graham (Al), Megan Elisa Parker, Marrin Eileen Helm-McCalab (Jason) and Marie Elizabeth Sims (Lance). He also leaves behind his sisters Connie Pfenning (Dallas) and Paula Johnston (Ben), grandchildren All-Wyn and Julien Graham, Makenzie Parker and Malachi Green, Nathen and Thea Margaret McCalab and Tyler and Riley Ann Sims. A niece Miranda Howe and nephews Travis Pfenning, Jonah Johnston and Brian Johnston and companion Debbie Shasteen.
Mitch’s childhood was spent on the family dairy farm in McCluskey, North Dakota. He became owner/operator of Helm’s Garage in 2008. Most of all he loved to spend time with his girls and grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
