Mitchell David Goff, Jr., age 76, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 25, 1947, in Maury County, Tennessee, Mitchell was the son of the late Mitchell David Goff, Sr. and the late Hattie Broom Pillow. He was a 1965 graduate of Carver Smith High School where he excelled in football and basketball. Mitchell worked twenty-seven years for Leadec in Columbia. He previously served many years as a bartender for numerous places in Maury County, and in his younger years, worked as a lifeguard. Mitchell will be remembered by many for his pristine sense of style. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Valetha (James) Alderson, Timothy (Connie Goodall) Goff, Cheryl (Fredrick) Joyce, Shaun Cross, Robert Goff, brothers, Clarence (Jean) Pillow, David Wayne Goff, Willie Edward Goff, Kevin Goff, extended sisters, Dorothy Williams, Alma Davidson, Ann Williams, Annette Williams, Brenda Williams, devoted grandson, Jaden Goff, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine Goff, son, Shawn Duncan, sister, Elizabeth Broom Arms, and extended sister, Darlene Edwards.
