Mitchell Dale Mayes, age 52 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on September 17, 1971, to James Edward and Joyce Nan (Mayes) Mayes Jr. Mitchell had most recently been employed in manufacturing. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Viola Mayes, Hubert Mayes, and James Mayes; and brother, Michael Mayes. Mitchell is survived by his loving parents, James and Joyce Mayes; grandmother, Jean Mayes; children, Shane (Meagan) Mayes, and Danielle (Ryan) McKinney; grandchildren, Adyn, Mariah, Montana, Autumn, Reice, and Izabella; siblings, Michelle (Mark) Huskey, Melinda Smith, and Melissa (Donald) Reed; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
