Misty Ann Loutzenheiser, age 53, of Muscle Shoals, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2024. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21st from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Leighton Baptist Church. The funeral will immediately follow in the church. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Cemetery, Florence.
Misty is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Geraldine “Nannie” Higgins; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Edith Risner; special aunt, Marguerite “Neno” Whitefield; and stepfathers, Junior Bruce and Ray Lough.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Loutzenheiser; children, Cole (Josey) and Alex Barnett, mother, Susan Lough; father, Larry Higgins (Charlene). Additional survivors include siblings, Mark Higgins, Tim Higgins (Leslie), Beth Ticer (Chris), Susanna Livingston (Bo), and Jason Clemmons (Amanda) along with several nieces and nephews.
Misty was a 1988 graduate of Central High School. She spent many years as an RN at ECM and Shoals Hospital. Misty had many talents and was extremely creative and artistic. She loved to bake and made numerous birthday cakes for her family. She enjoyed traveling and looking for hummingbirds. She had many hobbies to keep her busy, but her favorite activity was spending time with her loving family. She will be greatly missed.
