It is with great sadness that the family of Miriam Lois McCord Hallmark announces her passing. She peacefully passed away on July 20, 2024, with her family surrounding her. Miriam was born on January 3, 1955, in Pontotoc, Mississippi. She was 69 years old when she went to meet our Heavenly Father. Fondly remembered by all as Mimi, she was one of the strongest, bravest, and kindest person to grace this planet. Miriam was an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and human being. Her mission was to guide people to love the Lord. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of the spirit, and unending generosity that could be seen in everything she did. All her adult life she worked at the family furniture store alongside of the love of her life, Ronnie.

Miriam will be remembered for her role as “first lady” for the years her husband served as Mayor of Shannon. She spent countless hours by his side beautifying the landscapes and decorating for holidays around town. Miriam loved to cook, work in her flower beds, and make memories with her grandchildren. She was a faithful church member whose life’s passion was to serve others. She was passionately devoted to numerous committees at Shannon First Baptist, as well as singing in the choir. She had the voice of an angel. People were drawn to Miriam’s liveliness, humor, and kindness as she picked up lifelong friends everywhere she went. Miriam’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

She was one of nine children: Bob (Joyce) McCord, Pat (Rudy) Johnson, Mary (Marty) Allison, Joe (Cathy) McCord, John McCord, Michael (Terri) McCord, and the late Mark McCord and the late Bill (Charlotte) McCord.
