FMiriam Jeanette Brooksuneral Services for Mrs. Miriam Jeanette Brooks, age 82 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Wesley’s Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Billy Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, she lived in Charleston for a number of years working as a hairdresser in her own beauty shop. When she married her husband Benny, they moved to Clay County and have lived here around 37 years. Mrs. Brooks won a blue ribbon for her pound cake and sharpshooting, and was a member and secretary treasurer at Wesley’s Chapel Christian Church.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her children: Beth Johnson Brown (Dave), Sherry Brooks Crew, both of Lineville, Denna Brooks Reddick (Dennis) and John Andrew Brooks (April), both of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren: Amanda Brooks Hansil (Bailey) of Huntersville, NC, Kyle Ray Brooks of Charleston, SC, Lili Elizabeth Gonzales of Anniston, Emma Claire Runfola of Lineville, and John David Reddick of Charleston, SC; three great-grandchildren: Charlotte Renee Hansil, James Brooks Hansil, and Tyler Dennis.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Guy Walter Scott and Annette Elizabeth Pollard; and her husband, Benny Brooks.

Active Pallbearers will be Tyler Dennis, Jeff Fuller, Wayne Brand,

A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. and until 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. She will lie in state at Wesley’s Chapel Christian Church from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.

Family is accepting flowers or donations can be made to Wesley Chapel Christian Church.
