Minnie B. Walker  Minnie Walker, 95, a resident of Merrill Mountain passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eugenia Edmonds Bridges, her 12 brothers and sisters, her husband of 67 years, Joseph Gardner Walker (Joe/J.G.), two sons, James Gardner Walker (Sherry), Darrell Walker (Cindy) and one granddaughter, Katrina Walker Bolton.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and visited 48 of the 50 states. Minnie loved growing flowers and enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds that came back year after year. She enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and family reunions, but most of all she just loved spending time with her family and friends. She made every event seem like it took no effort, despite how much time she invested in it. No matter what event you attended, you would always look forward to her dressing and potato salad. At all times she made everyone feel as welcome as one of her own.

She is survived by two children; Barbara Martin of Scottsboro and Rickey (Karen) Walker of Grant, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, September 24 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the New Hope Funeral Home with a graveside service at Walker Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with Gary Paseur officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Walker Cemetery Trust Fund, in c/o Gary Paseur, 1286 Albert Mann Road, New Hope, AL 35760.
