Grace Memorial Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mrs. Minnie Shaw Barnett, 78, of Tuscumbia, Alabama. Minnie Louise Barnett was born on December 28, 1945 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, to the late Edgar and LeeOnnie Byrd Shaw. She departed this life to be with the Lord on March 25, 2024.
She gave her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was an active and dedicated member of Everdale Missionary Baptist in Sheffield, Alabama.
Minnie was a source of wisdom, a confidant, and someone who would give it to you straight. She loved beyond faults, to a fault. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Her sense of humor was unmatched. She made friends everywhere she went. She loved to cook and enjoyed feeding many, as well as kept an immaculate house. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children and grandchildren strong values that have served them well. This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful woman has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be tremendously missed.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sallie Hubbard, Molly Barnett and Allene Moore; two brothers, Charles Shaw and Willie Fred Shaw; nephews, L.B. Hubbard and Ray Hubbard; niece, JoAnne Allen; one great-grandson, Kaiden Garner.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four devoted children, Ronald Qualls (Aretha), Muscle Shoals, AL; Kenneth Qualls (Lisa), Ellenwood, GA; Yolanda Stalling (Jason), Muscle Shoals, AL and Jason Barnett (Rhonda), Muscle Shoals, AL; sister, Mae Pearl Jackson (Clint), Tuskegee, AL; brother, Rev. Edgar Shaw (Alvie Lee), Tuscumbia, AL; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
When you think of Minnie, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
