Funeral services for Minnie Lugene Brown, 91, of Decatur will be Friday, February 20, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Roger Jenkins and Reverend Johnny R. Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Brown, who died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born May 6, 1923 in Eva to Thomas Herbert and Mary Ethel Williams Andrews. She was many things to many people, but will be most remembered as a dedicated homemaker, a loving caregiver, and a gracious host to all who entered her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buster Brown; two sons, James O’Neal Brown and Jeffrey Wayne Brown; one brother, Thomas Lamar Andrews; and two sisters, Nadine Williams and Evelyn Turney.
Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Brown Johnson and Kathy Brown, both of Decatur; three sons, Jimmy Brown of Birmingham, Johnny Brown of Alabaster and Jerry Brown of Decatur; three sisters, Irene Williams and Elizabeth (Curtis) Thompson, both of Cullman, and Marie Hood of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
