Minnie Helton Everett passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at her residence at the age of 102. She was born on November 22, 1918, in Madison County, Alabama, to James Samuel and Mattie Lanford Helton. She married Sanford Everett in September 1938. They spent most of their married life in Maysville, AL, where they had a successful farm operation until their retirement. Mrs. Everett was a member of Pleas Mount Baptist Church, Killingsworth Cove, AL, since her teenage years. She is survived by daughters, Jo Ann Everett Dean (Donny), Maysville, AL, and Jimmie Everett Hancock (Paul – deceased), Fayetteville, TN. She is predeceased by her son, Billy Everett; husband, Sanford Everett; her parents; eight siblings; granddaughter-in-law, Nicole West Dean; son-in-law, Paul Wilson Hancock; step-granddaughter, Teresa Hancock Rhodes; and a very special nephew, Roger Everett. She is also survived by grandchildren Cheryl Allen Pearson (Ronnie); Mechelle Everett Bongers (Brian); Dr. Matthew Dean (Penny); Daniel Dean (Nicole – deceased); Spencer Everett (Kristy); Jennifer Dean Massey (Matt); Blake Dean (Megan); Matthew Hancock (Amy); daughter-in-law Barbara Brown; and step-grandchildren Cindy Hancock Butler (Ken); and Donna Hancock McAlister. Other survivors include great-grandchildren Jessie Massey, Matthew Everett Dean, Neleigh Everett, Parker Dean, Trace Hensel, Aiden Everett, Gracie Dean, Cooper Massey, Tanner Dean, Reese Hensel, Price Pearson, Kaylee Self, Tucker Massey, Brady Dean, Anna Dean, Sam Dean, Eli Dean, Cecilia Hancock, Charles Brandon Hancock, and baby Emersyn Dean expected later in August; and step-great -grandchildren Russell Meyerriecks (Kristy) and Tyler Meyerriecks (Kelley). She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and two special friends – Mary Nell Gipson and Helen Massey. Special thanks to her nieces and nephews who have shown her so much love and care especially during the last weeks of her life. Visitation for Minnie will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Following the visitation will be The Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. We feel so blessed to have had her with us for almost 103 years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by us all. Her grandchildren are honored to serve as her pallbearers.
