Military Helicopter Stops Traffic at U.N.A. – PHOTOS!

University of North Alabama- On Friday the 12th of April at approximately 1:00 p.m.  a  Boeing CH-54 Chinook helicopter landed on the Band Practice Field across from Rice Hall dormitory on Pine Street, shutting down Pine Street for a short amount of time. Colonel Retired Ray Atencio, Retired out of the Alabama National Guard and an instructor with the University of North Alabama R.O.T.C.  In an interview with the Quad Cities Daily, Colonel Retired Ray Atencio said that approximately 45 cadets  were a part of the weekend long aviation training.

The cadets were flown to a Boy Scout camp were they completed the scheduled training. This training gave the cadets that wished to work with aviation the opportunity to do so. According to Atencio all of the cadets were issued paintball guns as part of the training as well.
