Mrs. Mildred Sue Proctor Burgess, age 90, of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was owner operator of Burgess Proctor Insurance Agency. She played piano for over 60 years at the Fellowship United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Hoge (Nancy), Perry Hoge (Sonya), Gena Quinn; step-son, Rob Burgess; grandchildren Sarah Hoge, Molly Border, Amanda Murdock, Riley Hoge, Brooke Zolnik, Holly Freeman, Amber Stevens, Autumn Stotts, Jeremy Quinn; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Bynum, Canna Mae Brown, Ruby Lee Dozier; brother, Billy Jack Proctor; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Burgess; step-sons, Chris, and Greg Burgess; parents, Robert Walter and Bertha Precise Proctor; brother, Raymond Proctor.
The family of the late Mrs. Mildred Sue Proctor Burgess would like to thank the caregivers, Queen Humphrey, Sue Miller, Irene Paradise, Doris Avans, and Tommie Mayes, who were God sent and a blessing to her family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bro. David Moorman officiating. Burial will follow at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
