The family of Mildred Stephens, age 88, of Decatur, will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., to be followed by procession to Roselawn Cemetery for graveside service with Pastor Tom Campbell officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Stephens, who died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital, was born August 9, 1926, in Haines City, FL, to James Elzie Gaughf and Molly Pearl Kerce Gaughf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wiley Stephens, her parents, and two sisters, Dorothy Eubanks of Leesburg, GA, and Gladys Cook of Albany, GA.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Stephens (Julie) and Wayne Stephens (Debra), both of Decatur, and Gary Stephens (Lisa) of Thomasville, GA; three daughters, Linda Taylor (Gary) of Hartselle, Patricia Willis (Ralph) of Moulton, and Pamela Campbell of Athens; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved dog and companion, Caty, who will remain with her family.
Pallbearers will be Kris Lyle, Michael Lowery, Gary Taylor, Greg Taylor, Gerald Taylor, and Anthony Peebles.
