Mildred BidwellMildred Sanders Bidwell, age 95, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Monday, December 16, 2024, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 o’clock pm, Sunday, December 22nd, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Johnny Trail officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 12:00PM until the hour of service at 3:00PM.

Mrs. Mildred was born on March 23, 1929, in Chapmansboro, Tennessee, to the late Bryan & Clodys Smith Sanders. She retired after 33 years in the banking and real estate development business. She was in both the Cheatham County Sports Hall of Fame and the Women’s Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville. She was a member of the first women’s world basketball championship team in 1953. Mrs. Mildred loved her family, most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Bidwell; brother, Stanley Sanders; and sisters, Sylvia Binkley, Bille Jean Perry, and Lela Allen.

She is survived by her daughters, Marissa (Doug) Vann and Melodie (Richard) Marshall; brother, Wendell Sanders; grandchildren, Nikki (Michael) Pardue, Brian (Sarah) Vann, Kristin (Justin) Lorts, and Kasey (Ross) Rinehart, and great-grandchildren, Xander, Millie, & Harper Pardue, Katherine, Caroline, & Meredith Vann, Kinley, Kooper, & Kendall Lorts, and Jase & Jett Rinehart.
