Mildred Ruth Blaylock – Obituary

Mildred Ruth Blaylock, 80, died Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born August 28, 1936, to Garvin and Mina Waddle Jarrell. She and her husband raised their family in Tupelo, before moving to Fulton in 1988. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and she was retired from Hancock Fabrics store in Amory. She loved her Church, being around her family, and cooking for them. She especially enjoyed frying them okra and making banana nut bread for them.

Services will be at 2:00 p. m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Lloyd Minor and Bro. Billy Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Martin Blaylock (Christy) of Belden; three daughters, Veronica Long (Danny) of Thaxton, Sherree King (Diamond), and Ginger Yielding (Michael), both of Fulton; two brothers, Bobby Jarrell (Pearline) and Johnny Jarrell (Martha), both of Fulton; one sister, Nell Blaylock of Fulton; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Long (Heather), Matthew Long (Debbie), McKenzie Stephenson (Zach), Stefanie Barnard (Jonathan), Carrie Jackson (Brent), Cassidy Blaylock, and Camille Blaylock; ten great grandchildren; one sister –in-law, Jeanette Dulaney (Allen) of Fulton; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Blaylock; two brothers, Tommy Jarrell, and an infant brother, Clarence Ray Jarrell; one sister, Clara Faye Lesley; two brothers-in-law, Frank Lesley and John Blaylock, one sister-in-law, Jimmie Lou Jarrell; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Wayne Lesley, Dale Lesley, Keith Blaylock, Michael Jarrell, Tony Jarrell, Rob Jarrell, Craig Senter, and Neil Dulaney.

Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. Saturday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
