Mildred Robeson

Mrs. Mildred Robeson, affectionately known to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and close friends as “Meme,” walked through heaven’s gates on Thursday, November 5, 2020. She was born in Lyons, Nebraska. Her early years were spent in or near Blair, Nebraska where she attended Dana College and received her teaching certificate. She met the love of her life, Scottie, (Vernon Scott Robeson), at Dana College. She was preceded in death by Scottie to whom she was married 62 years.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Louisa Peck of Blair; three brothers, Harold Peck of Hooper, Sheldon Peck of Missouri, and Cecil Peck of Blair, and one sister, Dorothy Wilder of Idaho.

Mildred was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was active in the Seekers Class and along with many class members put on a weekly program at a local nursing home for over 35 years. She was a charter member of the Mourning Glories, a widow’s support group at Whitesburg Baptist, which she loyally attended until declining health.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Robeson Nash of Athens (Dan, Sr.), and one son, Philip Robeson of Owens Cross Roads (Emily); four grandchildren, Joan Nash Comer (Roger) of Athens, Diana Nash Blackwood (David) of Rogersville, Dan Nash, Jr. (Teri) of Rogersville, and Ivy Robeson Mills (Shane) of Huntsville, and eight great-grandchildren, Carly Nash Prince (Jake), Camille Comer, Cade Nash, Chelsey Comer, Victoria Blackwood, Trenton Mills, Isabella Nash, and Barrett Mills. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Bob Russell.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020, the service at 2:00 p.m. all in the Chapel at Valhalla Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in the Garden of Gethsemane at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
