Mildred “Penny” Dollar 74, Hartselle, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital. Penny was born July 2, 1944 in Bostwick Georgia to Samuel Monroe and Matilda Malcolm Dollar. Miss Dollar was a teacher who over the years taught at Harvest Jr. High in Madison County, Alabama, Brooksville Jr. High in Brooksville, Florida, DAR High School in Grant, Alabama, Calhoun Night Classes, and Morgan County High School which is now Hartselle High School. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one sister, Rita McCarter of Booneville, Mississippi and several aunts and cousins. No services are planned at this time. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the Hartselle Alumni Association Memorial Fund for Scholarships, 1000 Bethel Road, NE, Hartselle, AL 35640.
