Mildred Marie Overton

Mildred Marie Overton, age 82 of Double Springs, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. She was born on June 3, 1942 to Fank and Mary Lois Nelson. Marie was a great cook and enjoyed sewing. She loved her family and was a devoted mother and wife. Marie was always willing to help others. She was a faithful member of the Double Springs Church of Christ. Visitation will be on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m. at the Double Springs Church of Christ where the service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Vance Hutton and Justin Guin will officiate. Marie is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth Overton; daughter, Tanya (William) Mathis; son, Tim (Kristi) Overton; grandchildren, Chandler (Taylor) Overton, Katie Marie Mathis, Casey (Yohanna) Overton; great grandsons, Noah Overton and one on the way; brothers and sisters, Larry Nelson, William Allen Nelson, and Peggy Nelson; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fank and Mary Lois Nelson.
