Mildred G. Thompson, age 88 of Lester, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Athens-Limestone Hospital ICU. Mrs. Thompson was born September 15, 1930 in Limestone County to Trusvan Chives Gaston and Susie Marie Johnson.
Services for Mrs. Thompson are Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. with Mark Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 10:00 until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Owen Hudson (Jay); son, Rickey Thompson (Jackie); grandchildren, Chuck Owen (Christy), Kimberly Owen; Shawn Lewter (LaDonna), Heather Winnette (Joe) and Christiana Thompson; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Thompson; brother, David Gaston; sister, Rachel Patterson.
She was a member of Salem Church of Christ. She is retired from ASCS. She loved flowers, was a proud member of the Democratic Party and loved her family.
Pallbearers are Chuck Owen, Joe Winnette, Shawn Lewter, Brian Patterson, Greg Gaston and Jay Beasley.
