Mildred Edith Ricketts Copous was born May 8, 1930 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Fannie Omelia White Ricketts. She married James T. Copous and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1978.
Mrs. Copous was a retired business owner, had worked at Genesco and was the owner/operator of the “honey” truck.
Mrs. Copous departed this life on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 11 Months, 18 Days.
She is survived by daughter, Wanda Gobbell of Mount Juliet, TN; 5 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Copous was preceded in death by a son, Don Ricketts Nesbitt; a brother, Thomas Franklin (Bud) Ricketts Jr.; and sisters, Emma Wade and Louise Nesbitt.
Services will be Friday, April 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Blake Graves and Daniel Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6 – 9 pm and Friday, April 28, 2017 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Blalock, Andrew Brison, Tyler Blalock, Hunter Davis, John Martin, Erik Nesbitt, Chandler Gobbell and Chris Gobbell with Ethan Nesbitt as honorary pallbearer.
