Mildred Adonia McLemore Terry, 100, of Hatton, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Cypress Cove in Muscle Shoals. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Bro. Buddy Willis officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on February 1, 1923 to the late Richard and Hattie Corbin McLemore, Mildred was a member of Providence Baptist Church. A Sunday School teacher for many years, she loved to sew, and read, including reading her Bible and “Our Daily Bread” to the family every night. Mildred also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, O’Neal.
Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Snyder, Peggy (Howard) Hines, and Margie (Robert) Lance; grandchildren, Bryon Clegg, Richard Griebel, Jennifer (Jim) Hansel, Patrick (Amy) Hines, and Eric Griebel; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Cox; brother, David (Nancy) McLemore; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, O’Neal Terry; parents; son-in-law, Bill Snyder; sister, Ernestine Francis; brother, Richard Leon McLemore, Jr., brothers-in-law, Otis Cox, and Melvin Francis.
Pallbearers will be Bryon Clegg, Will Snyder, Rodney Walls, Wayne Terry, and Jimmy Terry.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cypress Cove.
