Milas L. Gist, age 81, of Cherokee passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Visitation will be at Morrison Funeral Home Cherokee, Friday, November 24 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. There will be a graveside service Saturday, November 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Mynot Cemetery with Ricky Collum and Baron Vander Maas officiating.
Milas was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama and was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a steamfitter at Reynolds Alloys. Mr. Gist was a member of Maud Church of Christ and the Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Silas and Hassie (Pendergrass) Gist and son, Gregory Michael Gist.
He is survived by his wife Linda Willams Gist; daughter, Jennifer Loveless (Matt); brothers, Larry and Raymond Gist; sister, Martha Vandiver; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Kaeleigh Loveless.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
