Mike Michael, 88, of Huntsville passed away Sunday at his residence. Mike was a native and lifelong resident of Huntsville. He retired from NASA and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the end of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents: Noel and Lugenia Michael; one son: Dickey Michael; one daughter: Jo Lynn Michael; two brothers: Ed Michael and Jim Michael and two sisters: Francis Brooksbank and Margaret Michael. Survivors include his wife of 30 years: Gwen Thigpen Michael; one son: Gary (Sonja) Michael; three daughters: Marilyn (Harry) Acton, Linda Michael and Brenda (Ken) Dutton; two step-children: Michael (Laura) Easterling and Leigh Ann (Tommy) Martin; one brother: Bill (Val) Michael; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a Chapel service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home directing. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care of Huntsville.
