Mike Jeter, 67, of BolivarMike Jeter, 67, of Bolivar

Mr. Jeter, 67, of Bolivar, passed away Friday morning, June 21, 2019, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

A native of Crockett County, he was born Saturday, July 7, 1951, the son of the late Cecil Jeter, Sr. and Peggy Jeter Rixie. He moved to Hardeman County as a young man and married Betty Lou Doles on July 18, 1967. Betty passed away Saturday, November 4, 2000. He then married Georgia Fay McLendon on January 21, 2006.

In addition to his first wife and parents, Mr. Jeter was preceded in death by two sons, Kelly Eugene Jeter and Curtis Eugene Dorris, Jr.

For over 25 years, Mike was the owner/operator of City Gulf service station in Bolivar at the corner of Market and Jones streets. In his leisure time, he enjoyed doing anything outdoors including fishing, duck and turkey hunting. He also enjoyed “bargaining” with those from whom he was buying and selling.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Jeter of Bolivar; daughter, Cristie (Michael) Daniel of Bolivar; son, Tony Michael Jeter, Jr. of Bolivar; two sisters, Beverly Jeter and Donna (Glenn) Sisco, both of Bolivar; three brothers, Cecil (Jane) Jeter, Hubert (Joy) Jeter and Wayne (Charlotte) Jeter, all of Bolivar; ten grandchildren, Bryan Dorris, Amanda Barr, Michael, Josh, Cody, Colin and Hayden Jeter, Lane, Carley and Chloey Daniel; and nine great-grandchildren.
